Why I Only Recommend Brands I Genuinely Believe In

If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you’ll probably know that I’m quite particular about the things I share. I’m lucky enough to be approached by brands fairly regularly and lovely as that is, I don’t say yes to everything. In fact, there are plenty of things you never see because they simply aren’t right for me, for Woman on a Mission or, most importantly, for the people who trust me enough to take notice of my recommendations.

I’ve always felt quite strongly about that. I have a background in oncology nursing and I think that experience has probably influenced me more than I sometimes realise. I’m naturally curious. I ask questions. I want to know what’s in something, what it’s supposed to do and whether it’s something I would actually use myself. But I also have a much simpler test: would I recommend it to a friend? If the answer isn’t yes, it won’t be on here.

Whether I’m talking about something for wellbeing, a piece of jewellery, something I’ve bought for the house, a hotel we’ve stayed in or a product that’s become part of my everyday routine, I want you to know that I’m sharing it because I genuinely like it. Of course, some of the partnerships you see here are paid, some products may be gifted and some of the links I share are affiliate links. I’m always transparent about that. But the reason I’m talking about something in the first place has to come before any of those things

The Partnerships That Grow With You

Some brand relationships are short and sweet: a lovely product, a piece of content and a successful campaign. Others grow with you over time and, for me, those are particularly special.

Kollo Health is very much one of those.

I’ve been part of the Kollo family for years now and, during that time, both Kollo and Woman on a Mission have evolved enormously. What I love about our relationship is that I’ve never had to suddenly find a reason to talk about their products. They’ve simply become part of my life and you’ve seen them pop up naturally over the years, alongside training, travel, busy working days and all the other bits of everyday life that make their way onto Woman on a Mission.

More recently, when Kollo introduced Electrolytes to the range, they kindly sent me a box ahead of the launch to try.

I was genuinely really pleased to see them arrive because they’re exactly the sort of simple addition that works for the way I live, particularly around exercise, travelling and those days when I’m rushing from one thing to another. There are four flavours too, which apparently means even staying hydrated now requires me to make a decision!

I enjoyed them enough to continue buying them myself and they’ve since become another regular part of my routine. I recently created little reel around the Electrolytes. There was no brief or list of deliverables attached; I already use them, had an idea for the content and wanted to create something because I love the creative process and thought you’d genuinely enjoy discovering the products too.

I think there’s something rather lovely about that. A good brand relationship doesn’t necessarily have to begin when a brief lands in your inbox and end when the content has been posted. For me, the best relationships are the ones where I can continue talking about a brand naturally because it genuinely fits into my life.

One from the archives. Kollo has been part of my everyday routine for many years.

A Little Look Back

One of the loveliest things about working with a brand for a long time is being able to look back and see how much has changed.

Kollo recently asked me for some new photographs so they could refresh my Ambassador profile on their website. We updated the words too because, when I read the old version, I realised it was still talking about my Paris Marathon and fundraising in 2025! It was a lovely reminder of just how much has happened and how Woman on a Mission has evolved since then.

When the Kollo team updated the page, they also decided to keep one of my original Ambassador photographs alongside the new ones because, as they put it, it was lovely for people to see how long I’d been with them. I absolutely loved that. Not necessarily because I needed an old photograph of myself preserved on the internet forever, but because of what it represents. I’ve grown, Woman on a Mission has grown, Kollo has grown and we’re still working together.

It’s actually quite lovely seeing the old and new photographs together and reading a profile that now reflects where Woman on a Mission is today.

Why Your Trust Matters To Me

Claire Morgan-Hughes, founder of Woman on a Mission

There is so much available to us now. Every time we open our phones we’re being shown something else to buy, try, wear, eat, drink or add to our routines and I don’t ever want Woman on a Mission to become another place simply adding to that noise.

I’d much rather share fewer things that I genuinely rate: products I actually use, clothes I really wear, places I’ve genuinely enjoyed and brands I trust. Sometimes that content will be paid, sometimes something will have been gifted and sometimes I’ll earn a small commission if you choose to buy through one of my links. Sometimes, as with this particular Kollo reel, I’ll create something simply because I love the creative process and I think it’s something you’ll genuinely enjoy discovering too.

The important bit for me is that the recommendation shouldn’t change. If I tell you I love something, I want that to mean something. I want you to know that I’d be just as comfortable recommending it to you over a coffee as I am sharing it here.

That’s the relationship I want to have with this community and it’s one I intend to protect.

A little note I’m a long-standing Kollo Health Ambassador and have an affiliate relationship with the brand. This article has not been paid for or commissioned by Kollo Health. I was originally sent the Electrolytes to try when they launched and have since continued to buy and use them myself. As always, all views and recommendations are my own. If you’d like to explore Kollo Health for yourself, my code WOMANONAMISSION1 gives you 15% off sitewide.
